Spice up your walls with a bit of personalised wall art from Wallspice

In between all of the other projects, we have also just launched our own new website selling personalised typographic wall art – Wallspice.

Born out of a couple of ideas we came up with for our own decoration and presents for loved ones, we thought that we could put our skills to good use by selling our work online as prints and canvases. We use the personalisation available through e-commerce to create unique artwork for every customer.

The shop has just gone live and we’re spreading the word through the wonders of social media. Have a look and see if there’s anything that takes your fancy…

Our new website design for The Egmont Trust goes live

The “Go” button has been pressed and our new website design for The Egmont Trust has just gone live. The result of six months collaboration between Designworld and the team at Egmont have produced a comprehensive, but easy to use resource which we hope will prove successful for educating,, informing and fundraising.

Linnea from Egmont (a charity which aims to tackle and reverse the impact of HIV & AIDS on children in sub-Saharan Africa) said “a huge thank you for all your brilliant work on our new website and for being such a pleasure to work with. You’re part of the Egmont family now :-). We’ve already had rave reviews and that’s before it’s even been officially launched.”

PS – Unfortunately we don’t really have a “Go” button to launch new websites, which is a shame, though it’s probably exiting enough seeing them live for the first time anyway. We do, however, have a red “panic” button purchased from the Design Museum a few years ago. Luckily we’ve never needed than one (ahem).

New website design: Structural steelwork has never looked so sexy!

Just as well we’re not a superstitious bunch as this Friday 13th saw the “go-live” of the second website design we have produced for Rowecord Engineering, the structural steelwork company based beneath the famous transporter bridge on the banks of the river Usk in Newport.

The new website is for their “Rowebeam” product, a piece of software which the company has developed in-house which helps their customers with the analysis and design of steel beams with web openings.

The new website features an installation photo gallery amongst many other resources and also allows Rowecord customers to register and then download the software to their own PCs to use on their projects. The comprehensive back-end that we developed for Rowecord allows administrators to keep track of all registered users and software downloads. This is the major second website we have produced recently for Rowecord, following the successful launch of the main company website in 2011.

New logo design unveiled for local welsh-medium nursery

We were pleased to recently complete a new logo design for Cylch Meithrin Grangetown a’r Bae, the Welsh-medium nursery based in Paget Street, Grangetown, Cardiff.

The logo had to be bright and colourful so that it appealed to kids and staff alike. It also had to work on the hoodies and sweatshirts which were going to be produced for the nursery- and these were going to be available in four different colours.

Luckily we were up to the challenge and produced a bright, fun logo design which all of the staff and children seem to love. Can’t wait for the summer when they’ll all be seen toddling around the Bay on their trips out, hopefully proudly sporting their new colours.

Event design helps British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists’ Congress go with a swing

Many thanks to David Peel for these kind words about the event design work we did for BSHAA’s annual Congress event:

“Just in case the system forgets to thank you and Louise for your help to ensure our Congress went with a swing, can I formally record our appreciation.

“By general consent the printed programme was the best ever but those who pass comment rarely appreciate the extra that you both put in when, with our backs to the wall, we forget some vital piece of printed material or lack the necessary artistic skills to fulfil some vague creative idea rumbling around in our brains. Ceri and Louise, take a bow”.

Designworld are proud to support another winning team with brochure design

Designworld were recently commissioned to design and produce the souvenir programme for the Cardiff Schools Under 15s rugby tour to Canada. This brochure design was a big job with a tight deadline, but we’re pleased to say that everything went without a hitch – much like the tour itself.

The boys were unbeaten on the tour, against some very physical Canadian opposition.

By all accounts the boys were a credit to their team, city and country. Congratulations to the boys and all involved in the tour.
