Cardiff may have escaped the severe flooding seen around much of the country recently, but Lou was still taken by surprise by shouts of “Duck!” whilst walking through Pontcanna this morning. What next – a seal swimming around Victoria Park?*

*Note for non-Cardiff residents: Billy the Seal lived in a pool in Victoria Park after being found in a trawler net in the 1930s. The seal famously escaped during heavy floods and spent a happy few days swimming around the city, before being returned to the park a local hero.
